The King is taking care of business, this summer in Baz Luhrmann's Elvis
biopic. A pioneer in the music industry, Elvis had an impact on the music industry, unlike any other musician. Yes, Elvis was known for his Pop Rock & Blues music, however, this movie is about his early days as the King of rock n' Roll. The problem is that people, especially this movie's target audience are forgetting that.
I have been tasked by Warner Bros. to come up with ideas for a launch campaign, that speaks to Gen-Z & introduces them of this Rock icon! I have created a strategy, executions & mockups for this project.
I also acted as a copywriter on this project.
Phase 1 - Introducing the King.
What better way to grab this young audience's attention than to start this campaign off with an exclusive NFT launch featuring artwork, that pays homage to contemporary artist's cover art. this could be a great way to connect Elvis to the current music scene & conversation. The pieces could also be released as posts on social media & OOH.
Phase 3 - Taking Care of TikTok.
Why don’t we create a challenge, where we get people to take a snippet from the movie & create their own scenes, not snippets of the actual Elvis doing this, specifically Austin’s Elvis from the movie. In an effort to really get it going, we could start the challenge by asking influencers to do it & then ask them to challenge their audience, we should ask
the influencers to one up each other, maybe through costumes, etc...
Phase 2 - Be the King/Queen.
Considering social & the need for Gen Z to share everything for a minute, what about a series of photo presets/filters, that turn your photos into the art style of both Elvis & Austin Butler's album covers.
Phase 3 - Taking Care of TikTok.
Who doesn't love a fun TikTok filter ??
Phase 4 - The King Invites You.
Use a Rock n’ Roll QR code that takes users to a VIP booking system for the movie, inviting audiences to watch in style, a screening fit for The King. Create bespoke, diamante QR codes that redirect users to book for Elvis via ODEON Luxe etc. These movie goers would receive embossed golden tickets in the post, as a keepsake.
Phase 5 - The Burger...King.
"Burger King was by far Elvis' favorite fast food chain" -LA Times. Perhaps a partnership with Burger King, simply implemented with QR. We could create a bunch of secret off-menu items of both Elvis & Austin’s favourite foods. Elvis - Peanut Butter, Banana & Bacon sandwich.
Phase 6 - Drip King.
Drip - Adj. Slang terminology that means your look or style is incredibly fashionable.

Hire artists and designers to bedazzle people’s clothing and accessories. They could be placed with a stand at cinemas, foyers, malls, festivals, and more.
